Unique styling, powerful engine, cozy interior are the words which best describe the upcoming 2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport. Compared to the standard RC model, the F Sport adds some cosmetic details in order to look sportier, more standard equipment and the most powerful engine in its RC lineup. With this F Sport package, the new Lexus will also receive larger wheels and tires, adaptive dumpers, sporty seats, stability control and standard 10.25-inch display with navigation. Furthermore, the brand’s Safety System+ will now come as the standard equipment.
The new Lexus RC F will also appear with some new exterior colors. As well, it will be lower, longer and wider than the standard RC model. Its main rivals on the market will be Audi S5, Cadillac ATS-V, BMW M4, Ford Mustang and Mercedes-Benz C Class.
2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport engine and performance
Under the hood of the 2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will be placed the most powerful engine in the lineup. It is going to be a 5.0-liter V-8 with direct injection. This engine will be able to produce 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. It will pair with an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission. The RC F Sport will be able to hit 60 mph in only 4.4 which is great. Its top speed will be limited to 170 mph. The rear-wheel drive will be standard while the all-wheel drive configuration will be available too.
As for the fuel economy, it gets 16 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg combined.
Exterior and interior design
When it comes to exterior, the new 2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will feature similar design as the standard model. However, it will receive many new details in order to look sportier and more aerodynamic. First of all, the front fascia will be dominated by the hourglass black mesh grille which seems to be made of lots of small F motifs. The unique and attractive LED headlamps will be separated from the L-shaped daytime running lights. On the rear end, we will notice L-shaped taillights too, dual exhaust pipes on each side and rear wing. The new RC will ride on the 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. As well, it will now appear with two new exterior colors: Atomic Silver and Flare Yellow.
Inside, the 2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport will features comfortable and sufficiently spacious cabin. The front seats are very cozy and supportive while the rear seats are a bit crowded and not so suitable for adults. They will be upholstered in quality leather. The dashboard will receive a new and standard for the first time, 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation system. Among many standard features included, we will mention Bluetooth, USB, premium audio system with 12 speakers, a rearview camera, heated seats, stability control, satellite radio and so on. The 2018 Lexus RC 350 F Sport should arrive sometime in 2018. As for the price, it will most likely start at around $64,000.
