2018 Toyota Mirai: Price, Release Date, Review

The first hydrogen fuel cell vehicle which represents the brand’s first zero-emission vehicle in the lineup and which was produced for the masses is once again ready for some small upgrades. It is the upcoming 2018 Toyota Mirai which should arrive pretty much unchanged and we can only expect some minor adjustments. Since the Mirai model is relatively new model, it was introduced in 2016 and refreshed as the 2017 model year, there was no need to do anything large. Perhaps we could only see upgrades considering technology, precisely the upgrade of the infotainment system. For a mid-cycle facelift we will have to wait for the year of 2019 or even 2020.

Dimensionally, the Toyota Mirai is almost the same size as the Camry model. It offers space for four passengers and it is very well equipped. As well, it provides better range than many other electric cars but it lacks in acceleration.

Its main rivals will include Hyundai Tucson fuel cell, Honda Clarity, BMW330e iPerformance, Chevy Bolt EV, Toyota Prius and Nissan Leaf. Currently, it is sold in Europe, California and Japan only.

Design of exterior and interior

When it comes to exterior design, the 2018 Toyota Mirai will also continue with the design of the 2017 model year. The Mirai sedan is a vehicle which you either like or not. The whole body is about sharp lines and edges. The headlamps are very slim and give it more aggressive appearance.
