Although it represents the all-new vehicle on the market the latest speculations say that the carmaker is working on the new 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe. However, it probably won’t bring any large upgrades this time.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe
The Lexus LC has been introduced for 2018, so there won’t be any changes applied under the hood for the 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe. It will keep with the same 5.0-liter V-8 engine which is also used in the RC F and GS F models. This engine is able to produce 471 horsepower and the torque of 398 lb-ft. It works with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The LC 500 Coupe can hit 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and its top speed it limited to 168 mph. Speaking of the fuel economy, it is estimated to be 16 mpg in the city, 26 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined.
On the other hand, there is also the LC 500h which uses a hybrid engine. It is a 3.5-liter V-6 combined with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery of 44 kWh. This engine can make 354 horses and it gets 26/35 mpg in the city/highway drive.
Design of exterior and interior
Since it has been all-new for 2018, we don’t anticipate any changes in the exterior design of the 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe. Its design is based on the LF-LC concept which has been presented at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The whole body shape and design is very attractive with the brand’s familiar spindle grille with black mesh pattern and angular three-element LED headlamps. The rear end of the vehicle is also prominent with all-new 3-D taillights.
As expected from a sports coupe, the new 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe will feature a driver-oriented interior. However, it will keep with the Lexus’ well-known luxury and elegance. The front seats are highly comfortable and supportive and are offered with side bolstering for even more comfort. On the other hand, the rear seats are a bit tight so as the cargo space. The LC comes with standard leather upholstery. It offers the room of 5.4 cubic feet. Furthermore, the infotainment system features a laptop-style touchpad which makes it a bit difficult to reach during the drive.
Equipment of the 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe
Among standard features of the 2019 Lexus LC 500 Coupe, there are power features, Bluetooth with audio streaming, LED headlights, leather, a glass roof, 20-inch wheels, and a Pioneer audio system. Once again, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto won’t be offered. However, the LC 500 will also be available with larger 21-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, semi-aniline leather or Alcantara, blind-spot monitoring, active rear-wheel steering, and so on.
As for the safety, it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and an active lane control. Blind-spot monitors, automatic parking assist, and a head-up display will be optional.
