The Lexus manufacturer has revealed its all-new coupe, the 2019 Lexus RC F. This model has been introduced in 2015, and the 2019 model year has gotten a mid-cycle refresh this time. Visually, we will notice some new details and elements while it should stay unchanged on the engine front. As well, there will be the new Black Line package with will bring more standard equipment and changes in exterior styling.
Engine and performance of the 2019 Lexus RC F
The 2019 Lexus RC F will return with the same powertrain found in the current RC F. It is a 5.0-liter V-8 engine which is able to generate 467 horses and 389 pound-feet of torque. This engine is mated to 8-speed sport direct-shift automatic transmission and a rear-wheel drive system. As for the fuel economy, it is rated at 16 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. This engine is able to hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and its top speed will be limited to 168 mph.
On the other hand, the RC F Sport version will be available with the Black Line package which will include the base 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine in the RC 300 and RC 300AWD, and a 3.5-liter V-6 which powers the RC 350 and RC 350AWD.
Design of exterior and interior
The engineers are testing the prototype of the 2019 Lexus RC F at the Nurburgring. Although it has been camouflaged, we have been able to see that the RC F will get some new elements. Those include the new front spoiler, reshaped air front intakes, and a rear bumper diffuser insert. But generally, the RC F will remain the same and features many similarities with Toyota 86.
As for the interior design, we don’t have much information. But in the terms of styling and design, we assume that it will remain unchanged. The front seats are comfortable and supportive while the back seats will be suitable for smaller passengers. The leather upholstery is standard. The RC F has the cargo space of 10.1 cubic feet. The dashboard is fitted with a 10.25-inch screen with Lexus Enform system and navigation. Unfortunately, we assume that the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay won’t be offered once again.
As far as the technology is concerned, the new Lexus will come standard with automatic climate control, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, satellite radio, audio streaming, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity. Among optional equipment, there are cooled seats, blind-spot monitors, navigation, and Mark Levinson sound system with 17 speakers.
As for the safety, the RC F will come standard with the Lexus Safety System+ which includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. A rearview camera is also standard. The Black Line package will add LED headlamps, moonroof, a Mark Levinson sound system, navigation, orange stitching, and a wood-trimmed steering wheel. In the exterior styling, this package will include chrome accents around the grille and windows, and two exterior colors, Caviar and Atomic Silver.
Release date and price of the 2019 Lexus RC F
The new 2019 Lexus RC F should go on sale later this year. Its starting price is estimated to be around $65,000.
