The Toyota Avanza is a 5-door MPV which made its world’s premiere back in 2003. Then the second generation debuted in 2012 and in 2015 the Avanza has been refreshed with new interior and exterior design and upgraded engines under its hood. Furthermore, the Japanese manufacturer has just presented the new 2018 model year which has brought changes in styling and equipment. However, the new version has also been announced and it is the 2019 Toyota Avanza. However, although this model still hasn’t been revealed, we assume that it won’t bring any large changes since it has just been revised.
The Toyota Avanza is a great choice for families because of its large cabin and it is one of the most affordable vehicles in its class. The 2018 model year has kept its well-known design and shape but it has just been slightly revised in order to look more attractive. Inside the cabin, there have been some changes in color combinations, upgraded touchscreen, and redesign of the instrument cluster. As well, the most notable change is the new third-row seats. However, under the hood, the Avanza is equipped with the same engine options as before. So, for the 2019 model year, we expect the same specifications.
2019 Toyota Avanza engines and performances
The 2019 Toyota Avanza will be powered by the same engines as the current version and there are two engines available. The one is a 1.3-liter Dual VVT-i gasoline engine which is able to develop 96 horses. The next option is a 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i gasoline engine. This unit has the output of 103 horsepower. The engines are paired with either a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. The rear-wheel drive configuration is standard.
Exterior and interior design
Speaking of the exterior, the 2019 Toyota Avanza will arrive with the same styling as the 2018 model year which has been slightly refreshed. The front end is dominated by the larger trapezoidal grille, revised sleek headlamps and prominent bumper which all give it muscular and bolder appearance. On the rear end, there are new taillights.
Moving to the interior, the 2019 Toyota Avanza is very roomy; it has three rows of seats, and it is able to accommodate up to seven passengers. The third row of seats is 50:50 split-foldable which provide more cargo space if needed. Furthermore, there are two color combinations including black/brown and black/grey. On the center of the dashboard, there is a large 7.0-inch touchscreen for infotainment system.
As for the safety, the Avanza is loaded with airbags, Toyota Vehicle Security System, ABS with electronic brake distribution, traction control, remote control central locking and so on. Moreover, there are also an audio system, air conditioning, USB, CD and MP3 player, DVD player and satellite navigation.
Release date and price
The 2018 model year should arrive later this year. However, the Company still hasn’t said when we can expect the newest 2019 Toyota Avanza. When it comes to the price, we assume that it should stay close to the current one.
