The manufacturer is working on the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid model which should get some small changes this time. Those upgrades will be most likely visible on the tech department and maybe some small changes in the external appearance. Furthermore, beneath its hood, it will get the same hybrid unit.
Engine and performance of the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid
Under the hood of the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid will be placed the same engine as before. So, there won’t be any surprises this time. This hybrid unit combines a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with and electric motor of 123 kWh. The gasoline unit will make 259 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. And the total output of this unit is going to be 308 horsepower. The engine will work with a continuously variable transmission and the all-wheel drive system is standard. As for the fuel efficiency, it is estimated to be 31 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Furthermore, the RX 450h L model will use the same engine and will have the same output, but it will be rated at 29 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
The exterior and interior of the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid
As expected, the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid will feature the same bold design as the outgoing model. The front end will get its familiar spindle and massive grille and angular headlamps. The roof will feature a floating look because of the blacked-out C-pillars and the F Sport model will get even more aggressive look because of the larger 20-inch wheels. Furthermore, the hybrid model will also be available as the RX L model which will be longer for 4.3 inches. On the other hand, it is very likely that the new RX will get some small changes such as new exterior colors, some new details in order to make it look fresher, and so on.
Inside, the 2020 Lexus RX 450h Hybrid will have a modern, well-equipped, and attractive cabin as its forerunner. The dashboard will be fitted with an 8.0-inch touchscreen while the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen will be available on the higher trim levels. Furthermore, RX 450h L will get the standard second-row captain’s chairs so it will be able to welcome up to six passengers, unlike the standard model which will get the seating for seven passengers.
As for the equipment, all the models will get LED headlights, power features, power front seats, 18-inch wheels, synthetic leather seats, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment, and so on. And the RX 450h will also get real leather upholstery, wood trim, roof rails, and many other features. The options will include navigation, blind-spot monitors, heated and ventilated seats, and a panoramic roof.
