2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid: Review, Release Date, Specs

This time next year, or perhaps even earlier, we can expect the new 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. The new Avalon could get an improved performance this time, but we can also anticipate some changes in external appearance such as new colors and some mild revisions of the front fascia. Furthermore, the engine will be paired with a continuously variable transmission and the front-wheel drive configuration will be standard and the only option. In terms of fuel economy, the Avalon Hybrid will show very good ratings. And it will get 43 mpg in the city, 44 mpg on the highway, and 43 mpg combined.

Design-wise, the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid will keep up with its sharp, angular, and aggressive styling which might be mildly refreshed for even more modern and fresh look. The front end will get a massive grille and a pair of headlights which will feature square-shaped projector lenses which are known as Quadrabeams. The rear end will sport LED headlights and chrome-tipped dual exhaust pipes. The 17-inch alloy wheels w.ill be standard while the carmaker will also offer the optional 18-inch alloy wheels.


The cabin of the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is spacious, luxurious, and elegant. The front seats are very cozy and supportive and the rear-seat passengers will also enjoy plenty of room. The dashboard is fitted with a large 9.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. All the materials used in the design of the cabin are of high-quality. Speaking if the cargo room, the base model has the room of 16 cubes but the hybrid version is less generous because of the batteries so it has the room of 14 cubic feet.

The 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid will be offered in XLE Plus, XLE Premium, and Limited variants. So, the standard features will include leather seats, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, two USB ports, Bluetooth, push-button start, AM/FM/HD radio and CD player, a moonroof, universal garage remote, and auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Toyota Safety Sense-P system will also be standard.

 The XLE Premium model will add navigation, Toyota’s Entune audio system, driver’s seat memory, Qi-compatible wireless phone charging, and blind-spot monitoring. Furthermore, the Limited models will also include perforated leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, rear-seat climate control, JBL audio system, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Release date and price

The 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid could make it premiere in late 2019 or in the beginning of 2020. The starting price of the hybrid model will be $43,700.
