Since the 2019 model year has just been released with several upgrades, the new 2020 Toyota Avalon will most likely arrive with no major changes. As the matter of fact, the new Toyota will hit the market as a carryover, so it will get the same sharp and sporty design with a spacious interior and many standard safety features. As before, the hybrid version will also be offered.
Engine and performances of the 2020 Toyota Avalon
Under the hood of the 2020 Toyota Avalon will be found two types of engines including a traditional V-6 and a hybrid engine like in the previous versions. So, the first is a 3.5-liter V-6 engine which is able to develop 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. It works with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the power is sent to front wheels. In the XLE versions, this engine gets 22/32/26 mpg while in the other models, it is rated at 22 mpg in the city, 31 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined.
The next is a hybrid engine which combines a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which can make 176 with the electric motors. The total output of this unit is 215 horsepower. This engine works with a continuously variable transmission. As well, this unit is the most fuel efficient and it is estimated to be 43/43/43 mpg.
