The new 2020 Toyota Camry has been confirmed to hit the market next year. However, for now, there is no precise information about the changes which it might bring. However, it could get some new technology. Under the hood, the new sedan will offer three engine options, including the most fuel-efficient hybrid engine.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Toyota Camry
Three engine options will be fitted with the all-new 2020 Toyota Camry as before. And the base will remain the same 2.5-liter inline-4 unit with the output of 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and will come with front-wheel drive system as standard. In the L model, this unit will get 29 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway. The LE, SE, XLE, XSE models are rated at 28/39 mpg.
The XSE and XLE models will be offered with an optional 3.5-liter V-6 engine. This unit will have the output of 301 horses and 267 lb-ft of torque. It will use the same gearbox and the drivetrain as the base model. This one will get 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway in the XLE version. The XSE version will be rated at 22/32 mpg.
Furthermore, there is also a hybrid powertrain which combines a 2.5-liter inline-4 with 176 hp and two electric motors. All together, they will be able to make 208 horsepower. The engine will be linked to a continuously variable transmission. The LE model is estimated to be 51/53 mpg while the SE and XLE versions will get 44/47 mpg in the city/highway.
The design of exterior and interior
In terms of exterior styling, the 2020 Toyota Camry will feature an athletic and prominent design. The front end of the L, LE, and XLE trims will get a lower grille and a pair of slim headlamps. The rear end will be dominated by the wide taillights. Furthermore, the SE and XSE models will get a spoiler and a faux diffuser below the bumper.
The interior of the 2020 Toyota Camry can accommodate five passengers in two rows of seats. It is comfortable, roomy, and easy to use. The dashboard is fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment while the XSE and XLE models get a larger 8.0-inch screen. The base model comes with 14.1 cubic feet of cargo space while the hybrids provide the room of 15.1 cubes.
The standard equipment of the base 2020 Toyota Camry L includes active safety tech, LED headlights, Bluetooth, power features, adaptive cruise control, Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen. The LED model will add an alarm system, power driver’s seat, 17-inch alloys, split-folding rear seats, etc. The range-topping trims will get keyless ignition, a head-up display, power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, larger 8.0-inch display, and many others.
Release date and price
There is no news about the arrival of the new 2020 Toyota Camry. However, it might arrive sometime in 2019. The price should stay similar to the one of the current model which begins at roughly $24,000.
